Are You Ready for Mudsock Week? Ready or not… here we go! 🔵 vs 🔴 — 🦁 vs 🐅 We are blessed to be part of one of the best rivalries in high school athletics. The annual Mudsock has become much more than just a game—it’s a tradition that brings our community together in a unique and special way. In fact, the term Mudsock has taken on a life of its own, with the local media even dubbing this matchup simply as “The Mudsock.” The Trophy and the Tradition... A huge thank you goes to Dub and Jeanie Clark and their family, whose generosity created the Mudsock Trophy. Now in its 18th year, the trophy symbolizes bragging rights between Fishers and HSE across all varsity sports. Each time the Tigers and Royals compete, one point is on the line. Heading into this week, Fishers holds a 2–1 advantage after wins in both boys and girls cross country, while HSE claimed girls golf earlier this fall. More Than a Rivalry... Fishers’ longtime Athletic Director Jim Brown summed it up perfectly: “It is a rivalry that takes family, best friends, and a community and turns them into fierce competitors when the game is being played. Then when the game is over, they are back to being family, best friends, and one community.” That’s what makes the Mudsock so special. When the final whistle blows, you’ll see blue and red athletes side by side—sharing hugs, high-fives, and photos. And it’s no surprise. These athletes grew up together, played in the same youth leagues, live in the same neighborhoods, and often worship together on Sundays. Their parents? They’re usually friends too—at least until game time. If you’ve never experienced a Mudsock matchup, you owe it to yourself to go. This Week’s Schedule...
