Battle of two of the best teams in girls soccer that was also the season opener commenced today at Carmel HS. HSE (#1 in preseason rankings) beat Carmel (#3 in preseason rankings) 3-1. Becca Tekrony scored first off an assist from Riley Boyd that made it 1-0 right before halftime. In the second half, HSE came right out of the gate and scored 2 minutes in from a double assist from Sloane May and Addison McClain with Margaux Henning scoring the goal. Carmel would answer a few minutes later to make it 2-1. But HSE played to the whistle and scored again with 2 seconds remaining in the game for a 3-1 victory. Many Royals played well incuding the subs but Margaux Henning earns POG for offense while Blair Satterfield earns POG for defense. Next week the Royals face Franklin Central for their first conference game and #4 Crown Point and #11 Penn next week.
