Girls Track earns State Runner Up

The Lady Royals Track Team finished just 8 points behind Carmel in the IHSAA State Championship on Saturday, June 7 at North Central High School earning State Runner Up. The 4x400 relay team of Ciara Kepner, Chloe Senefeld, Addison Smith, and Anissa Lammie ended the night with the only state championship in an event for Hamilton County at the boys or girls state meet. Their winning time of 3:46.26 was just off the school record time of 3:45.72. Just after that, Elizabeth Butler was awarded the IHSAA mental attitude award in girls track. This is the first time a member of HSE Girls Track has won that award. The team brought home 2 individual runner up finishes as well. Chloe Senefeld set a new school record in 42.62 as she was runner-up in the 300 hurdles and Anissa Lammie finished in 55.37 to earn runner-up in the 400 dash. Elia Blackmore scored 12 points for the Royals as she placed 4th in the 100 and 300 hurdles. The 4x800 relay team of Catey Campbell, Anissa Lammie, Elizabeth Butler, and Ciara Kepner broke the school record with a time of 9:01.45 as they placed 3rd in the race. The 4x100 relay team of Elia Blackmore, Chloe Senefeld, Laila Ehrgott, and Kaleah McCarter also earned medals with a season best time of 47.44 as they placed 9th. Congratulations to all of our state qualifying team including the alternates and managers that put work in behind the scenes.
